About Drumlace Kennel

Established in 2011 we are a small Gordon Setter Kennel based in Northern Ireland.
It all started as my eldest son wanted to get a new puppy, I had thought of getting an Irish Setter as a late uncle of mine had spent his lifetime breeding and working his dogs, I grew up spending a lot of my childhood around his setters, so thought maybe that was the breed for us, Amanda started to look through different breeds late one evening and came across the Gordon Setter she mentioned to me and I’d never heard of them so she showed me some pictures and there it all began I showed T.J he was fascinated by them, so the next evening I started to make enquires about a puppy and was put in touch with Les Hope & Adam Kane at Jenesta Gordon’s in Co. Durham they agreed to sell us a little girl from there Lilly, so some weeks passed and late one evening T.J and myself headed to the UK to collect his new puppy which he named as Lacey, then just over a year later we bought are second puppy again from Jenesta Gordon’s which was for my next son Shea.
Little did we know that eight months later we would start going to shows, originally supposed to be Amanda’s new hobby showing Mollie things turned around as a lot of shows were on a Saturday and with her owning her own hair salon she couldn’t close on the busiest day of the week, so I carried on to show Mollie which was an extremely difficult task as there wasn’t much encouragement within the breed here for newcomers, but regardless I have made some wonderful friends throughout the breed and in other breeds aswell here in Ireland and throughout the world.

I’m very grateful for all the advise and support I receive from everyone who are always there to support us at Drumlace Show Dogs, so thanks everyone for that.
In 2016 our next type of Setter arrived here at Drumlace Show Dogs which was are Irish Red & White Setter called Hunter, he came from the Cilleigne Kennel in Co Wexford owned by Mr Ken Kennedy, so little did we know back then of the adventure and successes Hunter would have, we have made history here in Ireland with both breeds which I can’t thank the breeder’s enough for sending me some wonderful puppies here to Drumlace Show Dogs, 2018 has been a year full of amazing results for us here at Drumlace which I’m so grateful to friends family and of course the judges throughout the world who have thought so highly of our team.
Thank you everyone.
